BELIEFS

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word given to us. It is a true story of love and redemption. It is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. Written by human authors, inspired by God, the Bible is infallible and inerrant. Because it is inspired by God, it is the ultimate source of truth and is relevant to our everyday life.

The Trinity

God has existed since the beginning of time. He exists as three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Even though each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each have equal power and authority.

The Father

God is all powerful, all knowing, ever present and He never changes. He is holy and He deserves all of our trust because He is faithful to His promises. He is a loving, compassionate Father and wants a relationship with his children.

The Son

God loved people so much that He sent Jesus, His Son, to earth to give us a visible picture of God. Jesus Christ is completely human and completely God. He lived a perfect life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all people by dying on a cross. After three days, He resurrected from death to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will one day physically return to earth for those whose faith are in Him.

The Holy Spirit

After Jesus rose from the dead — as promised by God the Father — He sent His Holy Spirit to assure us of our relationship with God, empower the church, and give spiritual gifts. He guides us into truth, comforts us, and convicts us of sin when we get off course.

Salvation

God created us for a relationship with Him, but we became alienated from Him through disobedience. Each of us is born with a sinful nature. No matter how good we try to be, we can’t regain our relationship with God on our own. Salvation is God’s gift of grace to us. We receive this gift when we repent of our sins, accept Jesus and the sacrifice that He made for our sins, and place our life in His hands.

Christian Life

We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

The Church

The Church is a community of diverse people — from different races, cultures, and backgrounds — unified through faith in Jesus Christ. The Church is committed to the teachings of Jesus and it exists to shine the message of God’s light and hope to the world so that everyone can know Him in a personal way.
